Once more, we plan on running a 24 team tournament where each team plays eight games over the course of the two days. I’ll start writing the schedule as soon as all of the entries are confirmed.
Each team is required to have five players who designate it as their ‘primary team’: that is to say that in the event of any schedule clashes due to being a member of multiple teams,  they must play for that team. As such, could you please provide a list of your five primary players as soon as possible so that we don’t have any incidences of teams being short-staffed (as has happened previously).
Planning on doing similar to last year, although maybe ’starting’ a bit later. Stay tuned for updates and if you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know!
We’ve had to make quite a substantial change to the way we collect money this year, as the SU has said that we aren’t allowed to ‘profit’ from the tournament. Therefore, we will be asking for an entry fee to cover all of our costs, which will be around £35 per team (still to be finalised), and would be very grateful for donations (suggested: £90, to make it up to the same price as previous years).
The donations would go towards entry fees and transport for the club. So far this year we’ve entered 5 teams to beginners tournaments (one was to a Women’s tournament), 3 teams to Mixed Indoor Regionals, 4 teams to Men’s Indoor Regs, and 2 teams to Women’s Indoor regs. We’ve got over 100 paid club members and intend to go to any outdoor warmup tournaments we can, outdoor regionals for Men’s, Women’s and Mixed and send a development team (or two) to Tour. We get some money budgeted to us and some bucs teams paid for by the uni, but it’s no where near enough to pay for everything we need to keep developing and performing at a high level!
